Not every patient with venous insufficiency is a candidate for radiofrequency or laser endovenous ablation. Some patients have venous problems are caused solely by incompetent perforator veins. (See our About Vein Disease section)
One technique that can be used to treat these incompetent perforating veins is ultrasound guided venous chemical ablation.
A very skinny needle is placed in the perforator vein, and then a sclerosing agent is introduced into the vein, which causes the vein to scar down. Many patients find dramatic relief of their venous symptoms after this simple in-office treatment.
